Standing with the Armed Forces Community: Our Commitment at Cedar Health and Wellbeing
At Cedar Health and Wellbeing, we are proud to be recognised as an Armed Forces-friendly organisation, supporting Veterans, Service spouses, and military families as they transition into and thrive within civilian life. Our commitment to the Armed Forces Community runs deep. It’s not just a policy — it’s our promise to always recognise the service and sacrifice of the Armed Forces Community.
Why the Armed Forces Matter to Us
Our passion for supporting the Armed Forces Community is truly personal as our Managing Director, Chris, served in the Queen’s Lancashire Regiment, giving him first-hand insight into the challenges faced by those in service, as well as the transition that comes after. He understands the unique pressures of military life, the sacrifices made by Service families and the valuable, transferable skills that Veterans bring to the workforce.
It’s this personal connection that drives our mission to provide not just jobs, but meaningful career opportunities that empower Veterans and their families to succeed.
Creating Opportunities That Make a Difference
We know that military service builds exceptional qualities, such as leadership, teamwork, adaptability and resilience. At Cedar Health and Wellbeing, we actively seek out these skills by offering a dedicated employment pathway for members of the Armed Forces community, including:
- Guaranteed interviews for eligible applicants, ensuring no skills or experience are overlooked.
- Insight days that give potential recruits a real look into what it’s like to work with us.
- Flexible leave options for colleagues whose partners are deployed, so family commitments are respected and supported.
Through our partnerships with Forces Families Jobs and the Career Transition Partnership, we promote our roles directly to Veterans and Service families, making it easier for them to connect with opportunities that match their abilities and aspirations.
Support That Goes Beyond Employment
Our commitment doesn’t end with recruitment. From the first day of employment, healthcare benefits will be provided, helping to remove barriers to wellbeing. We also offer internal training and development opportunities to help our team members grow in confidence and progress in their careers.
As an organisation, we are proud to engage with military charities such as SSAFA and Healthier Heroes, participate in events like Armed Forces Day and provide eLearning on Armed Forces-related topics. Our Armed Forces Champion acts as a dedicated point of contact, offering guidance, answering questions, and fostering strong links with the Armed Forces community. All the above efforts reflect our ongoing dedication of support and ensures that it is practical, personal and accessible.
Strengthening Our Organisation Through Service
Veterans bring a wealth of skills, knowledge and a strong sense of duty, all of which enrich the way we deliver support. Having Veterans as part of our team strongly benefits our organisation and most importantly, the individuals we support. Our values — Integrity, Accountability, Respect, Passion, and Nurture — align closely with the ethos of military service and these principles therefore create a natural bond between our organisation and the Armed Forces Community.
A Promise That Lasts
At Cedar Health and Wellbeing, our promise is simple: We stand with the Armed Forces community. Always. Whether through career pathways, wellbeing support, community engagement, or simply listening and understanding, we will continue to honour the skills, sacrifices and service of those who have served — and the families who stand beside them.
