Grey Gables First CQC Inspection ‘GOOD in All Areas’

Grey Gables CQC Report: Celebrating Excellence and Learning Together

At Grey Gables, our commitment to creating a compassionate, effective and safe environment has been confirmed in our recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) report. We’re delighted to share these results with our valued stakeholders - commissioners, families, friends and supporters of our mission. This report provides a comprehensive view of our achievements and insights on how we’re shaping the future of our services.

CQC Quality Statement Scores: A Snapshot of Success

The CQC’s evaluation process is rigorous, covering 34 ‘Quality Statements’ in areas such as safety, effectiveness and leadership. Our results reflect a strong dedication to excellence, with four ‘Outstanding’ ratings and thirty ‘Good’ ratings across the board, with no areas requiring improvement.

Our four Outstanding scores highlight success in key areas:

  1. Safe Learning Culture - Emphasising safety and continuous improvement to support everyone in our community.
  2. Caring Independence, Choice and Control - Prioritising personalised care, enabling individuals to make their own choices.
  3. Workforce Wellbeing and Enablement - The wellbeing of our staff is central to our success, empowering them to provide the best care.
  4. Well-Led Learning, Improvement and Innovation - Effective leadership and innovative practices, ensure our services remain responsive and adaptive.

A Summary of Our Ratings: From Good to Outstanding

Overall, Grey Gables was evaluated across 106 areas/evidence categories, with 13 rated as Outstanding and the remainder as Good. Notably, nine of the Outstanding ratings were awarded specifically for our processes, reflecting the systems we have developed to ensure consistently high standards of care.

This achievement is significant within the wider CQC context. Grey Gables stands out among inspected residential care settings for individuals with Learning Disabilities and/or Autism, demonstrating a level of consistency that is rarely achieved across all Quality Statement categories.

Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs): Ensuring Comprehensive Care

The CQC’s Key Lines of Enquiry (KLOEs) guide the evaluation of overall quality and effectiveness in care. Grey Gables excelled across all five core KLOEs:

  • Safe – Our rigorous standards ensure a safe and secure environment.
  • Effective – Our care practices are evidence-based, aiming to meet the physical and emotional needs of the people we support.
  • Caring – We place a high value on empathy and respect, treating each individual with dignity.
  • Responsive – We adapt our services to meet the diverse and evolving needs of our residents.
  • Well Led – Our leadership is dedicated to promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Looking Ahead: Continuous Improvement and Community Engagement

The outstanding feedback we received from the CQC, is a testament to the dedication of our staff and the ongoing support from our stakeholders. At Grey Gables, we recognise that while these achievements are worth celebrating, they also provide a foundation for further growth. Our goal is to maintain these high standards and continue listening to the needs of those we support.

This CQC report, reaffirms our commitment to creating an environment, where safety, compassion and independence flourish. Moving forward, we’ll build upon the insights gained, ensuring our services evolve, to meet the changing landscape of care for individuals with Learning Disabilities and Autism. Our pledge to you, our valued stakeholders, is to remain transparent, innovative and responsive, holding ourselves accountable to the highest standards.

Thank you for being an essential part of our journey. Together, we can continue to make Grey Gables a place where everyone thrives.
