Exciting News: Our New Residential Home in Lytham St. Annes – The Sand Dunes

As we head into 2025, we are filled with excitement and joy as we announce the first residents moving into our newly opened residential home in Lytham St. Annes. The Sand Dunes was officially registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) just in time for Christmas on the 23rd December 2024. This is a proud moment for Cedar Health and Wellbeing and we are thrilled to see the vision for this purpose-built home come to life.

A Home Designed with Care and Purpose

The Sand Dunes is not just a building: it’s a home, thoughtfully designed to support the needs of adults with Autism and/or Learning Disabilities. Located in the picturesque town of Lytham St. Annes, The Sand Dunes is a detached property spanning over two spacious floors, offering a welcoming and supportive environment for each individual.

The home comprises of seven independent living spaces, each carefully designed to provide privacy, comfort and the ability for our residents to live as independently as possible. Each person has their own personal lounge, bedroom and bathroom. Four of these living spaces are located on the ground floor, two of which are self-contained annexes, with their own front doors, offering independent access. The remaining three living spaces are located on the upper floor.

One of the standout features of The Sand Dunes is its beautiful, shared spaces - including a communal lounge, kitchen and dining room. These spaces are perfect for our residents to come together, enjoy meals and participate in activities that foster a sense of community and connection. The gardens surrounding the home, offer additional outdoor space for residents to enjoy, relax and take in the natural beauty of the area.

'Best Practice Design'

At Cedar Health and Wellbeing, we are committed to providing the best possible care and support for our supported individuals. That’s why The Sand Dunes has been developed to incorporate ‘Best Practice Design’, specifically aimed at supporting adults with Autism and/or learning difficulties. Environmental adaptations have been made to create a bespoke setting, ensuring that the specifications of each individual are met in a thoughtful and personalised way.

From calming colours to low stimulus environments, every aspect of The Sand Dunes has been carefully considered to promote wellbeing and each individual’s space is designed to reflect their unique preferences and needs. This level of customisation allows residents to feel truly at home, in a space that has been tailored to support their specific requirements.

A Location That Brings the Best of Both Worlds

The Sand Dunes is situated in the charming seaside town of Lytham St. Annes, a location that offers the best of both worlds. Nestled between the vibrant attractions of Blackpool and the more tranquil Lytham, our supported individuals are in a prime position to enjoy both settings. The location of The Sand Dunes provides easy access to a range of local amenities, activities and social opportunities, as well as being well-connected to transport links such as the M55, a local train station and bus stops directly outside the property.

The surrounding area offers plenty of green spaces, shops, cafes and leisure activities making it an ideal location for residents to explore and take part in community events. As well as Blackpool’s famous attractions, including: Blackpool Zoo, Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Tower. Not to mention the sand dunes right on its doorstep!

A Bright Future Ahead

We are incredibly proud of the progress we have made in creating The Sand Dunes into a wonderful place to call home and we are excited about the future and the opportunity to provide a supportive, nurturing environment where people can thrive and live fulfilling lives. The Sand Dunes marks a new chapter for Cedar Health and Wellbeing and we can't wait to see the positive impact it will have on the lives of those that we support.
