Deputy Manager: Grey Gables

Tom Creevy

My journey in care and supporting individuals has been both diverse and enriching. It all began when I was 18, and I ventured into various youth and community roles within my local community and beyond. From delivering group sessions to working one-on-one with young adults in Lancaster, Morecambe, and later Blackpool, I engaged in a range of activities— from addressing drug and alcohol use to job clubs and homelessness support.

My commitment extended to the West End in Morecambe, where I initiated a food bank, established facilities for homeless individuals to access showers, and ran a weekly job club for NEET young people. In Blackpool, I played a role in developing an LGBTQ+ group focused on anti-bullying initiatives in schools. My dedication to youth and community work led me to pursue a degree in the field at university.

After university, I transitioned into the healthcare sector, starting with Acorn Care, which later became Outcomes First Group/Options Autism. Over a 6-year span, I progressed from a support worker to an Advanced Practitioner and eventually a Team Leader. This journey allowed me to build meaningful relationships and make a positive impact on individuals' lives.

I expanded my skills by completing a Lead Adult Care qualification, including NVQ 3 and other certifications, at Kendal College. Additionally, I gained valuable experience with physical disabilities during my year at Leonard Cheshire Disability. There, I successfully supported an individual through rehabilitation, enabling them to regain mobility and move away from their wheelchair.

Motivated by a genuine passion for making a difference in people's lives, I consistently deliver high standards of care. Now, as I continue to advance in my career, I am dedicated to pursuing further qualifications. I've found a welcoming and developmental home in my current position with Cedar Health and Wellbeing. Here, I am eager to contribute to the organisation's mission and continue evolving both personally and professionally.
