Philip Gibbs-McDermott

Philip has over 42 years’ experience working in the Adult Health and Social Care sector, in a variety of roles ranging from Front Line Care worker, Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager, Registered Manager, Worforce Development Manager, Business Change Manager, to my last role, which was Head of Operational Services for a Local Authority in West Yorkshire.

Philip joined Cedar Health and Wellbeing as the Registered Manager at Sand Dunes, Lytham St Annes in October 2024, coming back into front line operational services with a passion and commitment to promoting good quality person-centred care and ongoing learning for the residents on their journey through life.

Philip possesses a strong foundation of knowledge and expertise in management practices. His leadership style is deeply rooted in a collaborative and empowering ethos, which fosters a supportive and inclusive culture. He is committed to harnessing, embracing, valuing, and embedding the unique strengths of both residents and staff.

Philip is dedicated to enhancing outcomes for the individuals he supports, with a core focus on delivering meaningful, person-centred care. At the heart of his practice lies a passion for placing the individual at the centre of their journey, ensuring they have real choices, and working in partnership to empower them to take control of their lives.
