Deputy Manager Grey Gables

Amy Fieldhouse

Amy began her journey in care from a young age, volunteering as a youth worker at her local youth centre from the age of 13. She continued in this role throughout her school years, alongside completing her Level 2 and Level 3 Health and Social Care qualifications, before finishing her A-Levels and beginning her professional career in care.

At 18, Amy  started working within an elderly care setting, providing support and care to older adults. Looking to broaden her experience, she moved into domiciliary care with Lancashire County Council, where she supported individuals with learning disabilities and autism who had transitioned from the Royal Albert in Lancaster and were being supported to successfully reintegrate into the community. During her four years in this role, Amy developed a strong passion for person-centred support and helping individuals achieve greater independence.

An opportunity then arose for Amy to further develop her knowledge and skills by completing her Level 5 Health and Social Care qualification at university. Following two years of study, she gained her qualification and progressed into the role of Nursing Associate within a nursing home. Here, she managed and supported a 19-bed unit specialising in elderly mental health (EMI), providing care for individuals living with dementia and complex behaviours. Over her four years in this role, Amy gained valuable experience in leadership, clinical care, and supporting people with complex needs.

This wealth of experience led Amy to join Grey Gables as Deputy Manager, where she continues to use her knowledge, compassion, and commitment to support both the people we care for and the wider team.

Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending quality time with her partner, relaxing with her cat Barry, exploring different restaurants, and watching reality TV.
